Highmaul Pets

Three new rares were added to the non-instanced version of Highmaul. They each drop a pet but you may need to kill them more than once for your manafiends. To make it easier, bring a friend as these rares can be quite tough to kill.

Vibrating Arcane Crystal – Rukdug located in the Path of Victors

Empyreal is from Guk located in the Market District

Glittering Arcane Crystal – Guk located in the Market District

Empowered is from Pugg located in The Underbelly

Warm Arcane Crystal – Pugg located in The Underbelly

Apart from their identical run-of-the-mill abilities between levels 1 and 15, it’s their level 20 ability which sets them apart.

Empowered uses Flux
Empyreal uses Prismatic Barrier
Energized uses Evanescence

Look familiar? Well, they’re almost identical to the Manos, Hanos and Fatos trio in the Menagerie.

Also, be on the lookout for a new weekly quest from Serr’ah or Lio. Note: the quest is account-wide but doesn’t appear to save progress on other characters.

You have proven yourself before but the wilds of Draenor are on another level. Defeat tamers in the wilds to prove your pet battle supremacy: Cymre Brightblade in Gorgrond, Vesharr in Spires of Arak, Tarr the Terrible in Nagrand, Taralune in Talador, Gargra in Frostfire Ridge, or Ashlei in Shadowmoon Valley. You can also defeat a visiting tamer: Erris the Collector or Kura Thunderhoof in your garrison.

You will only need to defeat 5 Draenor trainers so if you’re lucky enough to see either Kura or Erris before leaving the garrison, you’ll be one step closer to reaching your objective. The quest rewards 10x Flawless Battle-Training Stones which seems like a nice catch-up mechanic for those who need it.

Five quick battles shouldn’t take you too long, especially with the ability to fly. Personally, I don’t see myself doing this more than once or twice but the stones will definitely help me level those 3 new pets. It will also get me that little bit closer to the pet monument. Yeah… I won’t hold my breath for that one.

It would have been nice to finally see the Savage Safari Hat unless they linked it to the Draenor Pet Brawler achievement. This is, of course, the only monument I would’ve liked to see but it appears not enough for the 2000 Draenor pet battle wins you need.
