There are many reasons to visit the Isle of Bones, especially if you’re a fan of prehistoric dinosaurs and Jurassic Park. In fact, you may even recognise a few NPC references from the movie. My first few outings included some pet farming, tome farming for my hunter, a rare kill and even a world boss. The rest involved a lot of bone farming with Cool every now and then.

There are two main reasons to collect bones on the Isle, depending on whether you’re a fan of pets, mounts or both. However, it should be noted that the dinosaurs can also drop Primal Eggs – which I have yet to see. The eggs are similar to the Mysterious Egg, an item you could purchase from The Oracles in Northrend. Unfortunately, the Cracked Egg only had a chance to give a pet or mount after a 7 day wait but this was later changed to 3 days. The good news is, the Primal Eggs are guaranteed to give you one of three mounts – the Reins of the Black Primal Raptor, Reins of the Green Primal Raptor or Reins of the Red Primal Raptor. Hopefully, I’ll see one sometime in the future.

Once you’ve collected 999 bones for A Large Pile of Giant Dinosaur Bones, you can hand them in to Ku’ma who resides in a nearby cave. In return, he will give you the Spectral Porcupette.

The best part was, I was able to loot 999 bones exactly, meaning that Cool could loot the rest from now on. All he has to do is finish his 9,999 bones for A Mountain of Giant Dinosaur Bones which will reward the Reins of the Bone-White Primal Raptor.

The other day I also noticed a few Spectral Porcupines around Pandaria.

They are not really my cup of tea though so I’ll leave it at my newly farmed battle pet.
