With the Oscars coinciding with Matty’s birthday this year, she’s hosting a movie-themed extravaganza to celebrate. We could call it the Mataoscars.
Submit three mog outfits, (Mogit is fine) of three characters from one of your favourite movies, or from one of the award nominees this year. This is not their Oscar or red carpet attire, but the costumes in the films.
Okay, no need to twist my arm. It turns out I’ve been meaning to feature these characters for a long time now but I needed the extra push. As one of my all-time favourite films (and first-ever VHS purchase), The Princess Bride was an obvious choice. With an abundance of characters to choose from, my favourite couple seemed like a no brainer.
Princess Buttercup
Do you know what that sound is, Highness? Those are the shrieking eels!
Even though she goes through several costumes, this is the one she’s in a lot of the time. Whether she’s blindfolded, swimming with eels or in the Fire Swamp with Westley. I even did some “movie research” to see what shoes she wears. It’s a hard life sometimes… If you look closely, she’s still wearing the blindfold, but more as a headpiece.

I am not left-handed!
The main reason I chose a human for Inigo was the hair and moustache but he’s a lot bulkier than Inigo in the movie. I’m still not convinced the Foreman Vest is farmable anymore. According to Blizzard, it’s still in the game.

I lvoe that movie and I actually thought of picking it as well just to have a go at Inigio. He’s one of the best movie characters. “Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father, prepare to die.” ^^
Ya! “…prepare to die” We quote that sentence to our kids ALL the time, for absolutely no reason! (My boys are 11 & 8 and like sword fights and all that, they are both big fans of this movie!)

I thought about doing the Princess Bride at first, too, as it’s one of my all-time favorite movies. I was thinking of doing Prince Humperdinck as my third character (after Buttercup and Westley), though, or perhaps doing the trio of Vizzini, Fezzik, and Inigo.

It seems this was a popular choice for the contest but I couldn’t resist as it gave me the perfect reason to finally do it. I also thought about doing the trio but how could you not do Buttercup and Westley? I will probably go back and do some of the others at some stage.
Ok don’t sick that sumprush rodent on me but I’m not even sure I’ve ever watched the movie … I’ll have to netflix it. I do love what you did though!! Question, how do you find room for the outfits? I’m constantly juggling items in my bags because my bank and are full. Also I think I read somewhere you use wmv do you actually setup your screenshots in-game or are they on backgrounds. I’m still trying to figure the program out myself, it seems like a lot of items are missing it in or not really available.
OK, this is definitely one of those ‘Must Watch’ movies. I admit I hold a lot of items on my toons but thankfully, all these were done in Mogit/WMV and Wowhead.
The backdrops are sometimes recycled but the Buttercup and Westley ones were shot just yesterday. You might just need to import the gear in WMV using one of the settings.
So I finally watched it and you nailed all three great job!!
