If you’ve ever wondered about those mysterious camel figurines, here’s what to look for. Most turn into Crumbled Statue Remnants which vendor for 25G but if you’re very lucky, you’ll have a brand new mount to show for it.

Mysterious Camel Figurine NPC ID
There are 2 item codes for this object:
- 50410 – Item turns to dust
- 50409 – Figurine teleports you to the steam pools in Feralas to kill an elite named Dormus the Camel Hoarder. Once defeated, he’ll drop the Reins of the Grey Riding Camel.
It’s been estimated the spawn ratio is ONE real figurine to every SIXTEEN dust piles so if you haven’t seen either, here’s what you can expect.
NPC Scan used to auto-target the camel and place an icon on the object but this is no longer the case after Patch 4.1. The addon will still alert you when you’re close enough to the figurine but can no longer be targeted like normal mobs. This was proven a few weeks ago when my addon went off but clicking the popup did nothing so I had a lot of trouble locating where it was.
Last night, I was flying over the Temple of Uldum when the addon went off again but I was determined to find it – especially since it was the same area as before.
The next few minutes proved unsuccessful until I tried something new – Shift+V.
This made all the difference since they’re still tiny but now you can see friendly nameplates.
Mysterious Camel Figurine Script
Default settings have changed so make sure friendly nameplates are ALWAYS VISIBLE in your UI settings. They don’t appear to have health bars anymore but you’ll see the green name at least.
The following script will show most friendly nameplates in-game:

Note: this is character-specific. You can toggle this on and off by changing the 1 (at the end) to a 0.

Mysterious Camel Figurine Spawn Timer
There only seems to be ONE figurine up at any time and have personally seen a second one after just 6 hours.

Hello! I’m constantly searching for the figurine these days, and I come back hourly just to try find one to start off with. But alas, I’ve found none. I have not finished the Uldum quests, just done about 10 of them. I read through your guide, briefly, but I could not see you mentioned if it is phased. What is your experience with it?

From what I’ve read, phasing does not affect the ability to see these figurines so just keep trying and good luck.
Do you know the rough estimate between spawn timers for these figurines. I read on your youtube post that only one can be on the server at a time and it was a really long respawn. Are we talking 6-12 hour respawn time?
I personally saw a 2nd one after six hours. I imagine it would be a lot more difficult these days with cross-realms and random people clicking on the figurine.
