Six new cooking recipes were added in Patch 5.4.
- Recipe: Mango Ice
- Recipe: Farmer’s Delight
- Recipe: Stuffed Lushrooms
- Recipe: Spiced Blossom Soup
- Recipe: Seasoned Pomfruit Slices
- Recipe: Fluffy Silkfeather Omelet
All you need to do is farm a number of Ancient Guo-Lai Cache Keys from the mogu in the Vale. You will need at least six keys though as there’s only the potential for one recipe per cache.
Several rares can also spawn inside Guo-Lai Halls so be sure to kill them as they drop the new cooking materials needed for these recipes. This also applies to the rares outside which are listed under the One Many Army achievement. Once you have around ten keys, head down into the Hall of the Serpent or Hall of Statues to unlock the Ancient Guo-Lai Caches found at the end of either room.
A Jade Colossus still patrols the Hall of Statues but he’s easy enough to avoid or kill. Working your way across the room is now a lot easier with a greater number of safe tiles and only one spirit wall to deactivate in the far left corner.
I must have been lucky with my first three keys because I received a new recipe in each cache but it took a total of 20 keys to collect all six. On a side note, the Relic of the Thunder King and Relic of Guo-Lai are now BoA.
Here’s the list of ingredients you’ll need to make them all:
- Shao-Tien Rice will be scattered along the walls of Guo-Lai Halls.
- Fresh Mangos and Fresh Strawberries are sold by Merchant Tantan located in the south building of Setting Sun Garrison.
- Fresh Lushroom can be found around Tu Shen Burial Ground, east of Mistfall Village.
- Fresh Silkfeather Hawk Eggs can be found in the tree nests past Mistfall Village.
- Delicate Blossom Petals are gathered along the riverbed, west of Mistfall Village.
- Fresh Pomfruit may be gathered from the trees around Mistfall Village. The best part is picking them off the branches while mounted.
Note that all these ingredients have a 2hr duration so don’t bother picking them up unless you plan to use them. Also these last four locations are the ones used for the old Golden Lotus dailies.
Most of the buffs give some sort of animation upon use. The coolest would have to be stamina with spirit being the least noticeable.
Oh nooooooo! The recipes are in the caches? I threw a key out this morning to make room in my bags thinking I didn’t need it. Well, at least I know now!
GL with them.
Oh wow, I didn’t know this. I think I have 2 keys in the druid’s bank. I’m going to look today. Why does wow food have to sound so tasty.. Mango Ice and Spiced Blossom Soup sound like things I’d want to make irl.
Mango Ice does sound great until you see there’s Balsamic Vinegar in the recipe :P
Wow! All of the recipes! I just got the Spiced Blossom Soup for my Shaman, but my Priest will eventually gather them all! Not looking forward to it!
You may get lucky and only need half the number of keys that I needed to farm. I did it in lots of three which might have been problem.
Thanks Cymere, a very useful guide :)
Glad you found it helpful!
I want to go get these! Thanks Cym for the guide.
No problem!
